Default 2002 GT Front License Plate Bracket

Just purchased my 2002 GT in a state that does not require two license plates on the vehicle. I was hoping to purchase the front license plate bracket from my local Ford dealership however, it seems that this part is not available anymore. They suggested to mount the front license plate directly to the bumper. Does anyone know where I can purchase the front bracket for my car? Thanks!

I do not believe there was a bracket offered (maybe). There are four dimples in the bumper cover that are indicators of where to drill to insert the push-in 6mm threaded inserts; which are all I have ever seen used--though I haven't lived in a place requiring a front plate for 20 years...

They might still be available from ford. As of last year when I bought one they were. It is a plastic bracket that fits the contour of the bumper. It comes with 4 pop rivets to secure. You drill the dimples in the bumper to the correct size. You can also try one of the vendors on here they probably have it. Mounting the plate directly to the bumper in my opinion looks like sh*t. The previous owner did this on my car. At least on mine the bracket covers the holes, and it looks 10 times better. But my state requires front plates

My '12 Mustang came with the plastic base that is mounted to the bumper. I have it in the garage but did not want holes drilled to install.

Here is another way to do it without drilling holes:

my 02 front LIC plate screws right into the bumper itself. so, if I remove the plate it would be just the front bumper with the holes in it. I dont know of any bracket for 99-04 years...

There isn't one for the 99-04 GTs, the bumper has two "prongs" molded into it that the screws go into. It bolts straight through the bumper cover itself. If you search there is a fold away frame that bolts underneath so no holes and you can hide the plate at shows.

It's the 99-01 Cobra bumper, I love it!
