indecision.....or not?
hey everyone,
i've been reading around these forums for a while now just trying to get an idea of what i want to do with my car.
from what i've noticed the thing's pretty much bone stock except for the K&N that came with it and the super 40s i had put on.
I want to give the thing a little kick in the pants but I really don't know where to start, there just seems like there's so much i could do. i got about $500 a month budget and i would prefer that i could do the work in a weekend or less. I was wanting to get a tuner and a bigger throttle body first, but i really don't know jack about the 4.6 and how that would make it act. I also end up driving it most of the time for work because my blazer likes to act up all the time.
its a 98 gt 4.6 sohc 5-speed, i like to say that it's kinda my baby lol, but the baby needs to stop crawling and start walking. thanks in advance

and if i were to replace the cam i'd probably want to re-seat the valves, replace the rockers and beef up the return springs right?
i was lookin at this set http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...s-xe262ah.html
never had the chance to change the cam out of anything older than a 72 so this sohc setup is a new experience for me lol

Depends on the Miles. But most people dont. check out MHS ( modular Head shop) his stage 2 cams require nothing other than install and tune. a guy on here named kugzgt Has a set and his car runs really good.
install isnt bad. just time consuming, i helped do on on an 04 GT and we had to do the springs which sucked.

i ment newer, damn fingers never type what i want them to...
and i guess with 150k i'd probably should...just wasn't sure if rollers had the same wear in effects as hydraulic lifters n such. ive put the last 15k on there but ive ran full synthetic oil and midgrade in the thing since i bought it, dont really ever romp on it too hard because of how much it rains here id probably end up facing the wrong direction on the road :-/
but i definitely like the prices i found on the intake and the gears, probably will do that this weekend if i can get them shipped in.
