Default Looking to super/turbocharge my GT, advice?

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forums. I bought my 2004 GT a month ago, it is my 3rd mustang. I have owned two different 99's before this, a v6 and GT. I look forward to getting to know everyone..

Anyway, I am looking to gain about 150HP (on a stock motor) so that I can be on par with the new 5.0's stock power (~412bhp..?). Does anybody have any advice on how I can do this safely without having to build the engine/powertrain? I figure that a low boost setup would be safe for a stock engine. Has anybody done this before? What would I be looking to spend? I would like to keep this under 1 or 2 grand if possible. Thanks!

if you want to keep it at 1k you can buy my nitrous setup from me. If your looking for a blower you cant get one for 1k you can for between 1500-2000 tho if you are patient, and turbo you minds well forget it they will be over 2k

save a little and put the kenne bell 2.1 intercooled on. ive installed several of these and have loved this simple install and amazing responsive power from these systems.

look at used centri setups (vortech, procharger, novi). They can be had for cheap and are the most reliable setups out there which will easily max out your stock internals

Great advice everyone, thank you. I will keep an eye out for a good deal on a used procharger/vortech system, although the KB system sounds very interesting. NOS, while being a good bang for the buck, wouldn't interest me because I'd like to have the power always there without spraying or worrying if I need to buy more of it when it runs out. Thanks again everyone!

It's funny. Reading down thiscthread everyone named a different type of power adder lol. I'm saving for the 1500 vortech build right now. U can find the thread in the "pipes boost and juice" section

Vortech used kit seems to be the best way to go...nitrous is gay since the power is not always there and your car will be slow as ***** when your not spraying.

Turbo kits are expensive and seem to be problematic compared to a vortech kit
