Those twin strobes he uses lets him shoot into direct sunlight. Much better all around lighting on the cars.

thanks man, I'm gonna have to look into those strobes as well.. I've got everything for my rig ordered (actually i've got it all except the pole and I had just a normal ball mount for the camera then I ended up ordering an articulated arm for mounting the camera a little better - will be here tomorrow, then i'll just run out and get a conduit/pole) I'm going to do a huge write-up thread for this when I get everything going.
