Default Price on paint job

I am looking to repaint my whole 04 GT soon and was wondering what the average price was to do this. I am looking to get a good paintjob, but i am not looking for show quality where i cant drive it around. I am looking for practical and good looking on average.

^ yep....

you get what you pay for, if you pay any less than $3k, its prob gonna be horrible unless you can find a painter willing to do it on the side for about $3k.

3 to 4k sounds about right. Now it would be a lil cheaper if you are respraying the same color.

No less than 3...

Painting takes A LOT of work/prep....

Taking the bumpers/ side skirts/ sail panels/ head lights/ tail lights/ spoiler/ key holes ( which involves door panels, the sail panels also require interior panels).

Sanding everything down, all while fixing any dents you may have. Applying a chemical, i forget what it was but it was blue lol. Taping the car up, Primer, Wet sand, Color, Clear, buff/polish.

Then you put the whole thing back together without scratching anything lol.

yeah to paint a whole car is a PROJECT. I have to see it everyday where I work and props to the guys who have to do it lol

I would say these guys are right on in the 3.5-4k range, depending on how many clear coats etc you want and any previous damage that they would have to repair as well

I work in a body shop, and even for a basic repaint, it takes about a whole week of labor to do all the work. 40hr at $70hr (our rate) so 2800 in labor. And paint can very, a basic red is over $1000 a gallon. Like they say you get what you pay for.
