Yeah, the damaged paint is narrower than the hood scoop, and I want the stripe to cover the scoop entirely.

Well I meant on the roof. Because you are going to have that gap between the thin stripe and the fat stripe. Will the racing stripe paint damage extend out past that fat stripe where you can see the damage in that gap?

It's hard to explain without a picture.

The fat stripe will cover all damage.

The stripe idea just sounds like a band aid to me personally. Pony up the dough and paint that bish the right way.

It quite literally is a band-aid solution. Unfortunately the paint quotes I've gotten have been substantially more expensive. I forgot to mention the trunk has a little paint damage as well, not as bad as the roof, but noticeable if you look up close.

Not everyone around here can drop $1000+ on beautification. I'm with you on the vinyl...it's a nice temp job til you can save up enough cash to have it done right.

I understand the guys here, because at the core of the issue they are usually right. The best thing to do is have it repainted, but a real paint job is $4,000 and even just to work on your damaged areas is still probably $2,000+.
The vinyl is what? ...like $200-$300?

Do it for now, but start socking away cash to do it right.

The quote I got from a reputable vinyl shop in town was ~$300. All I have standing between me and a college degree is 115 more hours of internship. Hopefully I can find a big boy job after that and get it painted. I know I'm sick of waiting tables and getting terrible tips from all the white trash around here. haha. It pays the bills though...barely.

I like the fat stripe dark grey. It blends well with black.
