I took a little more time to do a better photoshop. Tried to take into account the curvature of the hood and roof. Also remembered to keep the inside of the scoop black this time. haha

Have you tried some paint correction stuff from like Chemical Guys or Adams or Mequires? It may fix it so that it is bearable to you. Plus you don't have to put those stripes on.

I have not, I'm not really familiar with these products. How do they work?

edit: are you just talking about buffing and polishing? This won't buff out, I've tried.

It's a little different than buffing. It generally fixes scratches and paint cracks from sunlight. It just has a different formula, you would still need to wax after using it.

I think it works for minor things, but if you go to the Chemical Guys site you could give them a call and talk to them about the paint and they may sell some product or tell you what you could use to correct your rough paint.

That's about what I was thinking. Man, stripes sure look sexy on the newer body styles.

As for the damaged areas, I don't think any polishing or paint restoration is going to do it. I don't know WTF kind of adhesive the old stripes used, but it's almost like it was acidic and ate through the clear somewhat.

Vinyl on a mustang is gayer than a Corvette owned by a confused transvestite metro-sexual.

Harsh, you want to foot the bill for repainting then? I was looking for input on what would look best, not insults. I know lots of people prefer a clean decal free look, hell, I'm one of them, but I also think in this case some stripes will look better than damaged paint on the roof.
