so i was approached by a friend to race his buddy with a gti turbo.
they claim the car is a 14.8 car at 92mph his 60ft is 2.2.
my car is a 14.813 car at 93 mph my r/t is .333 and my 60ft is 2.176 i spun a little when i got these numbers and have since added a throttle body and steeda pulleys should i run him im pretty sure this would be all about the driver since everything is so close.
thats if they are telling the truth about the gti he wanted to run for cash and i wasnt trying to throw away money or deal with any kind of fight over a money lose so its just for fun what do you guys think also any tips on launching im leaving around 1500 2000 rpms on street tires with a stock shifter

run him and see what happens if it's all fun. i wouldn't race for cash. because odds are he's going to beat you. I only say that because they prolly told you a time that was similar to yours, just so you'd think you could win and then they'd take your money.

If the GTI is stock then thats right at what stock ones run. My friend used to have one and it took him like 5 tries just to break into the 14's so. And that was after we stripped out his trunk.

You're smart not running for money. Most of us are not hardcore street racers with 9 second cars, so just enjoy run for fun.

go find some used slicks and spank that wrong wheel drive POS...

i wouldnt really worry about it, my buddies fully built, bigger turbo jetta only made like 240whp and 280wtq, and i would DESTROY him from a dig in my bolt on 95 with 3.08's...

i say go for it but obviously no $$$$$

what a waist of time the kid who wanted to race me started a fight before the race and i ended up leaving no reason to stick around and get jumped by 5 guys typical import ******
