Thx. It looks like a great car but it's a coupe. There's lots of coupes around here but I'm sure someone will buy and enjoy it.

DO NOT BUY THAT CAR. What a colossal waste of money 15k would be for a new edge auto GT. I don't care how few miles are on it. Think about it this way, you can pay 16-18k for an 03/04 Cobra which is going to have almost double the rwhp, has a supercharger, independent rear suspension, a T56 Transmission, forged internals, nicer interior, and will withstand a beating for hundreds of thousands of miles, or you can buy a ****ty auto GT with 22k miles for 15k. If you are dead set on a GT then spend 6-8k on one that has more miles. Any additional work you are going to have to do to the car because of the additional miles is not going to cost you the 7-9k that you are going to save.

What he said. If you really want to save money, take your time and search hard on the Web. Autotrader, cars.com, svtperformance.com for a Cobra or Terminator Cobra.

Just as an example, 3 years ago I took about 2 months of searching online to find my current 2006 GT. Bought it with 25k miles for $14,500 which was an easy 3 to 5k cheaper then most showrooms were running for similiar cars at the time.

Take your time and look but $15k for a New Edge GT, yeah, I'd only pay that much for a Cobra. I just bought a 04 Coupe V6 with 40k miles for $7500 cash. Not a GT obviously nor a vert but being a vert and v8 doesn't make it double the value.

Why do you call it an "edge"? What's an "edge"?

99 to 2004 Mustang's are called New Edges. Just Ford inside terminology.

It's what, 86 to 93 = Fox Body, 94 to 98 = S95, 99 to 04 = New Edge, 05 to 09 = S197, 10 to 11 = S197II or something like that

I'ld like a low mileage Cobra convertable but they're very few and cost thousands more. Do you know of any?

I'm about 70% for buying this car unless something better pops up. The thing is in absolutely new condition, the colors are perfect and I found a loan @ 3.7% making it very affordable. I'll give it until the end of the week then decide.

Oh, are they 0-60 in under 6 seconds stock? I've seen conflicting reports.
Thx

Don't buy that car. You asked for advice and everyone has told you the same thing...it's a waste of money, buy a nice low mileage mach 1 or save up a couple thousand more and buy an 03-04 cobra with 50K miles or so. You'll get way more performance for you're money and it'll still last for you as long as you'll want it to.

It sounds like you've already made your decision. The only question you really need to ask is, is it worth it to you?

I wouldn't pay that price for that car. I'm sure you're going to mod the car and you can spend half that and put money into mods. Or like everyone said save and buy a mach 1 or cobra. Plus if you're financing this a mach 1 or cobra retain their value. That GT isn't going to be worth that 15k. Just be patient instead of being so anxious to get this car.
