Can someone teach me about compressor surge?

Also, you have not said whether you are experiencing compressor surge? If not you don't need to anything.
Also to clarify a bit, this is only a significant problem with turbochargers and centrifugal supercharger, the former being the worst offenders. Positive displacement supercharger like the Eaton and Whipple units are not inclined to his effect until you get up into crazy boost levels...

I think my bypass valve sounds like compressor surge lol....cause even at like low rpms when I let off it makes a fluttering sound that sounds like compressor surge.
Unless im getting compressor surge at like 3k?
If it is compressor surge my blowers been getting that for the longest time.

^this is what i am hearing. Its like a flutter when i let off and i am not sure if it is compressor surge or not.
But i mean the blower should make a flutter sound shouldnt it? Since everything goes from boost right to 22 inches of vacuum as soon as you let off of it.
And i am running 11lbs and a blow thru setup. And i plan to run 15-16lbs but that not until forged internals which i will change everything anyways
