Default Tuning Software

Hi guys! New here and I have an 00' GT stock other than lowered 1.5in. And i mean STOCK. Anyways, I had read one day a while back someone said the stock fuel maps for these cars were terribly conservative, even hitting 11.5:1 AFR at WOT. Is this true? If so is there any way to get it to lean out when I'm at the track? Ran a 9.65 @ 75mph in the 1/8th. Spinning pretty bad or bogging. Still haven't found a good medium. Sure car could do a 9.40 if not more with more practice but only had it three months and made 9 passes total. Anyways, I would like to know also what tuning softwares are available for PC that I could get that don't break the bank and will plug in to the stander OBD II port? Or like I said anyway to lean out the WOT AFR while at the track to possible pep it up a tad bit?

I don't think they make pc based software. I sure wish they did though. I don't think there is much out there that you can write to the computer with. I have a bunch of programs that you can read all the data from the cars computer but I haven't found squat that you can write with. It doesn't make much sense why they don't have it. You would think it would be cheaper for the manufacture to just sell a disc. From my research the interface that plugs into the OBD port that links the computer can't write to it so if they do come out with something you will have to buy a proprietary interface. I don't think you can write with the Bosch software either. All the programmers that I have found are around $300+. IF you happen to find anything let me know I have been looking and researching it also.

Delta Force Tuning's systems are all PC based, using an interface box that can hold 5 tunes to connect to the PCM through the OBD2 port. Special Forces is their entry level system, Commando is the same as their pro system but only includes one strategy template.

Also available is an 8-position "chip" that allows instant selection of any one of eight preloaded tunes. To use this you also need the chip burner and either Special Forces or Commando...

Read more about Special Forces here...
