so my clutch cable snapped
i went to pick up my car at parking garage in city today, and the parking attendent comes down with a broken clutch cable on my 2003 gt. I live an hour from where the cable broke. The parking garage says they will pay and have it fixed tomarrow. but we all know how that goes i have this feeling ill be fixxing myself. My question is if i have to go there and replace the cable. does anyone know the exact size sockets id need?. id hate to make the drive and not have right tool.
Fire wall bolts?
wire bracket bolt?
and obv a jack to get under car

i wouldn't bring any tools at all. if they say they're paying to have it fixed, then they're gonna pay to have it fixed. i just replaced my clutch cable a couple months ago, unfortunately i dont remember what sizes i used. just makes sure you do use a factory ford cable.

My cable snapped earlier this year, fortunately I was only 1/2 mile from home and the few strands that were left worked well enough to get me there. As I wanted to fix it NOW I got a Dorman, now called ATP, cable from AdvanceAuto ($60).
I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was of high-quality and nearly identical to the OEM cable, with the same size and construction inner cable and well made and connected ends. It's got 15k or so on it now and shows no sign of wear...

if its an adjustable cable you're replacing it with, the nuts on the end of the cable are 1/2. Bring a couple wrenches. And i believe the bolt holding the cable to the side of the frame rail is 9/16. You will also need to take off the dust cover which is something small. If you're going to do it, just bring a decent size socket set haha. but like they said, hope the garage pays for it and gets it fixed.

I wouldn't have them fix it...I would have them pay for a new cable, but that's about it. It's an easy enough job and it's not worth waiting for them to set something up to fix it.
Hell, get a manager to give you $70 cash for a cable and be on your way and fix it there.
