I use Mobil 1 ATF (yes, ATF). Also, double check the fill amount, on the 3650 it is actually below the bottom of the fill hole so you really can't use that as a point of reference.
FlamingoGT is correct on the TR3650 fill level. A TSB specifies a revised fill level of 102oz not the 3.2 qts originally specified.

I am running Mobil 1 ATF and it shifts pretty well, but many guys i know have changed to the AMSOIL ATF and they absolutely swear that the shifting is smoother than any other fluid they have used. I plan to change mine to AMSOIL ATF in a couple of weeks.

If you have the stock shifter and haven't changed the fluid in a while your mind will be blown when you STS and new fluid in.

Out of all the mods I did when I had my 5 speed my favorite was my STS (I just had bolt ons)

This is a true statement!
Just give the new MGW a few days to get used to it before you decide if you like it or not. The transformation is huge and you may think the new set-up is too notchy, but you will love it in a couple of days!!!

Get a set of the new rubber gaskets for the shifter base when you do this. They allow you to pull the shifter anytime you want and reuse them without having to mess with sealer.

Regadless of brand I would not run a synchromesh type fluid in a t45 its bad for the liner, go with a synthetic ATF.

I can say my t45 has a whopping 140k miles on it and was the original trans when I bought the car in 2003-04 and ive done nothing but beat the living snot off it and it shifts like butter every gear still.

As was pointed out by Cliffy in another post, the revised amount is 3L which is close enough to 3.2 qts or 102 ozs, the original amount was either 3.8L (4 qts) or 3.7L (3.9 qts) (depending on year).

And what I have seen elsewhere say it is 3.2 - 3.3 qts for the T-45 also. But in this case, it is to the level of the fill hole, so that method should work here.

Amsoil and Mobil 1 are both full synthetics and both come highly recommended (I use M1 myself). Note that it is Mobil 1, Mobil makes other oils too that are either all dino or blends.
The other brands mentioned probably are full syn too, or blends, but I don't know.
