Default Modular to pushrod swap

Anyone got links to some builds ?

I've got the Mach, and I've got a fox with a healthy H/C/I 302. I plan on eaton swapping the Mach and had considered making the fox into a race only car. But the more I think the more I realize how much I love the new edge body. I know there are K-memebers that allow for the swap. I think team Z's is less than $300 ?

It's 2AM and I'm just brainstorming here but how nasty would a 408/C4 powered new edge be. I've searched but all I find are guys defending the motors already in their car saying do this or do that. We all know 2V's arent exactly monsters.

Check ZW99GT's thread making history. There was a long thread he made in the tech section when he swapped in a 408W into his GT.

youll need a pushrod crossmember and motor mounts, and obviously a higher hood to clear the intake...

for induction youll want to go either carb or a stand-alone EFI system (FAST EZ-EFI is an amazing kit), Kooks makes great longtubes and theres a bunch of other crap too

IMHO i would look into doing a DART 351W based build, a regular 351W is a little on the heavy side and cant take much more power than a stock 302 block... they also have 3.00" main bearings, so once the rpms start getting up there reliability goes out the door...

a DART 9.500" deck height, with 2.749" mains and a 4.125" bore with a 4.00" stroke is the way to go. throw on a set of AFR 225 or stage 3/4 ported TFS heads, a ported single plane and a HEALTHY hyd/solid roller cam and youre good to go

For the cost of building a 408W you could do A LOT to your Mach 1 motor and it wouldn't require half the work of swapping in a 408W.

The Machs keeping the 4V, the fox has a small block with some AFR heads/cam/intake. Which is originally what I thought of putting a 408 into. I just thought a beefy small block would be cool in a new edge, and they're a bit cheaper to build as opposed to the modular motors. I'm surprised there isnt more out there on this topic. Plus if I made a track car out of it the thing would be gutted pretty well so with the shaved weight I imagine it'd perform pretty well on the 1/4.
