Default Awesome deal on a Torque arm

I just got back from my local speed shop and was able to get a new MM hd torque arm still wrapped up for $200. They ordered it for a customer 2 years ago and it never got used.
Now I get to spend the rest of the winter putting together everything else I need.

MM recommends stiffer springs and I'm going to do new rear shocks at the same time.

Werd up, on the PHB and LCA's, yo!

Yes... approx. 150% stiffer than OEM is required for equal to OEM support with TA.

Nice find man!

I am still pondering adding the TA to my set-up. My local shop quoted me $700 for the TA arm and installation. MM said my current springs are good and I have the MM PHB and MM Extreme Duty LCA on the car already. I just don't know if I will see a $700 benefit from this upgrade...

What do you think JAZZER? I know you like them a lot. For a DD that sees 4-5 trips to the drag strip and 1-2 autoX each year, would I see the benefit???

As the first paragraph of the Official Suspension Guide states...
"... I don't see suspension mods as ONLY for auto-cross or the 1/4 mile or even the race track. I see a well operating suspension as a way to improve the driving experience every time you get behind the wheel... "
If your looking for lateral grip, the UCA's are your enemy! If your looking for off-the-line grip, they are your friend! You may have heard me say, or rather seen me write something like the following..... a twisty ride is fine on the 1/4, but a 1/4 mile ride on the corners sucks! My recommendation is to ALWAYS build mods for your ULTIMATE goal and one should decide what is more important.

If you really dig corners, hitting a couple AX's a year and just DD, you will enjoy what a TA can deliver to your experience. If AX is just and street driving is just an outlet, but you really dig the 1/4 mile.... leave the UCA's and just stick with the PHB you already have.

JAZZER,
Thanks for the input!
I love a good handling car, but the car gets driven pretty conservatively as my DD 99.5% of the time. The roads around Raleigh are way too straight for me to enjoy corners very much. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't have any complaints about the TA, but I'm just not sure if I would notice enough of a difference when I put it into turns to justify $700 for the upgrade.
