Default advice on building motor please!!

So after deciding to do a 4V swap in my 04 GT, looking into DSS and MMR for a longblock, and deciding I wasnt going to meet my budget buying a new longblock, I decided to build my motor from the ground up with forged internals,4V heads, and throw a KB Mammoth on it. Any advice on the parts I would need to accomlish my build?

one thread please...

forged crank rods, pistons and crank, either go with 4V heads or some TF 2V heads and use the KB, youll make good power either way...

the TFS heads will be nasty and you can always rub it in peoples faces that its still just a 2V...

Yeah I didnt realize I posted 2.. Is there any particular brand I should go with or stay away from? And I would also need to upgrade all studs correct?

i have seen people put down 600+ rwhp on factory bolts AND head gaskets, there really isnt any reason to spend the money IMHO...

as for brands it depends what you want to do...

stock stroke will be fine with a Cobra crank, H beams, and forged pistons

if you want a stroker bottom end then look into companies like Eagle, MMR, Livernois etc...

i know a lot of people suggest them but im not too fond of DSS; they might make great mod stuff but i was none too impressed with their pushrod products...

this is what i'm doing now, as far as the shortblock goes anyways. I bought a cobra crank for 150 then had to have it turned for an additional 100, then bought mmr rods/manley piston kit for I think 900. plus getting it all balanced for 200, and bearings for 100. so i'll have about 1400 into it and have a shortblock capable of 900hp. not bad.
