Rack and Pinion

Question Rack and Pinion

The rack on my 04 gt creaks when i turn to the right. I want it to go away very bad. should i just have it replaced? or can i somehow get in there to stop the creaks.. how tough is it to replace one, ive never done it before? any advice?

It might be the metal sleeves that hold your bushings in place. It could be that they are slightly too long and don't allow the bushings to do their job fully. I know there was a thread done up that explained it in more detail. Do a search and something should come up.

Oh... and of course make sure you rule out any of the other more common problems like worn tie rods or ball joints.
