Default Just ordered my deep dish bullitts now need advice on tires

So i finally am in need of new tires so i decided to buy 2 new rims for the rear as well. My question is what tires will fit the 17x10.5 rims i just ordered without having a spacer. My girlfriend got these rims about a year ago for her car and had 275/40/17 on the rear with her deep dish rims with BFGoodrich super sports. Is this a good size to get or can i go a bit bigger on the rear with no rubbing or no need of a spacer. My car is not lowered. Thanks guys.

From what I understand, you can do 315/35-17's and they won't rub. You cannot (and should not) do spacers, or you'll get the Mexican-truck protrusion...

I really think 17x10.5 is an odd size, as the true ideal tire size would actually be somewhere inbetween those two, but no such size exists that would get you the proper overall diameter.

I have FRPP lowering springs on my car and have been running 315/35/17s on an 10.5 x17 on the back since 2006 no rubbing issues at all. And no spacers are needed.

I rubbed with my 315/35/17 Nitto 555 Extreme Tires on a 1.25" drop. It's all about the spring you run... You'll be fine on stock springs. Those things are sky high.

I've got 275s on my 9'' wheels, lowered. I'm not rubbing, which only means I need to lower my car more and get wider tires next time!

You definitely should go with 315/35/17 if you've got 10.5'' wheels.

a 315/35 would be ideal, a 275/45 on a 10.5" rim looks funny imo because its stretched out to far. i wouldnt worry about rubbing with a 315/35, its the same height as a 275/45 tire anyways.

sorry guys i forgot to mention my car is driven year round and I live in Chicago, i looked on discount tire and all the 315 are DR's and thats not going to be too fun in rain and snow hahah is there anything in between those? Also what is a good reliable all year round tire to go with? my budget for all four tires is 500-700 give or take some. im sticking with 245/45 on front cuz thats what i originally have
