^ totally agree, with my old auto I got it tuned first before gears. You WILL notice quite a difference with a good tune. Just the way the car shifts and feels will be loads better. The car will feel like its just more solid would be the best way to put it. Then do 4.10's you wont ever regret 4.10's in an auto. bottom line do both but my vote is for the tuner first.. SCT all the way.

LOL
Sorry CRISPY (OP) !!!
It was supermario that said he was auto trans, not you.

The fact that you have a 5spd still doesn't change my position on getting the tuner first. A 93oct tune will be better than the crappy factory tune you have now, and it won't make your speedometer useless.

Either way, let us know how the first upgrade works out for you!

on a 5spd a tune will make a bit of a difference, dont expect killer numbers if you dyno it, but the car will FEEL faster, mostly because of getting rid of the little hiccup that pulls timing during shifts...

and even with the 5spd just go with the 4.10's you wont regret it

lol sorry, i missed the whole you driving a 5 speed as well. You wont be dissapointed getting the car tuned first, mine just got tuned back in september. its still a noticeable difference. Its not one of those mods you spend money on then kick yourself for doing, youll enjoy it forever. And the more you do to your car the more the tune will help out.

^^^^ Agree with that.
If it will only be a short while between purchasing the tuner and then the gears, you should wait and save some money with the combo.

I don't think you will see much improvement in peak dyno numbers between stock and the tune on a stock vehicle. It would be interesting to see both plotted on a graph though. You might see a decent improvement across the range vs simply looking at peak figures.

Agree wjth the combo. It'll be a noticeable pickup that way. More so than a little hear and a little there...youll forget how slow it really was by comparison
