When it comes to drag racing Auto > standard by a long shot.

The low stall factory converter isn't helping him launch as hard as he probably could with a manual trans. If he had a higher stall converter and decent tuning of the trans shifts he would outrun a manual car.

My two cents.

With his mods a stock auto is still better than a stock manual for a 1/4, sure he can launch his stick harder but the end result is gonna be worse than a softer launch with the auto, because traction will be severly affected coming out of the hole with spray and any form of low profile drag radial

I don't see him having any trouble with traction on the spray.
My car hits with 498lb/ft torque at 2700rpm and doesn't spin at all on my DRs(275-40-17). It is an instantaneous hit of torque when it activates.

Side note: he also has one less gear ratio in his trans for acceleration down the track.

My car is not the perfect racing car since its a Convertible but that's how I bought it and I was not in to racing at that time. My goal is 13.9 N/A. Auto and Manuel both have there up and downs. I only sprayed one run and 12.7 was what I got. Prob could of done better but my goal was to beat my friends F-150 Lighting (13.4) and I sure did do that. So y kill it?

op what was your mph on the runs? your car would greatly benefit from a stall/4.10's.
