Mustang being rebuilt How fast do you think it will be!!???

I agree with you. Unless I am missing something here, I can't imagine it was making anywhere close to 400rwhp. More likely it was making 325 tops. 11's would also be VERY optimistic for the NA set-up. I hate to be a downer, but it is better to set realistic expectations now so as not to be really disappointed on Monday. I'm not sure exactly what he is saying when he says the pistons have been bored 20mm. There certainly isn't enough wall thickness to bore the cylinders 20mm?! Is it stroked?
I assume that your mechanic has a dyno, and will be retuning the car? If not, you really must find a tuner to make you a good tune. The last motor could have been screwed by a bad tune. Rebuilding the motor and running it on the old tune is a risky idea.
GOOD LUCK, and let us know how it goes!

There is a better chance of Santa Clause magically appearing out of thin air than that car making 400 and running in the 11's - at its current state.
What kind of cams? It is a 13 second car you have there. Make sure you get a good tune for it.

I think OP will find on Monday when he gets the car back that it is not nearly as strong as he is hoping. 280rwhp will put him in the upper 12's. If he is lucky and puts down 300rwhp he may get mid-12's. 11's will require more in the order of 370rwhp.
I'm still confused about the pistons bored 20mm...??? Is the car bored and/or stroked?
No doubt the 400 number could only have been flywheel hp. That would still be 340rwhp thru a manual trans or 320rwhp thru an auto. I'd be more inclined to believe 350flywheel hp.
