i got my headers and my midpipe for about $300 shipped from summit, same as ctgreddy IIRC...
just a though with the 4V motor, upgrade to the better 97/98 radiator fan, the 96's had an issue with overheating, i got one from a junkyard for $15 and it drops right in

My 96 with the 4V swap would get pretty toasty in the summer, I would regularly hit 238*F with the A/C on. Never had much problem with it though.
Hell, my LT1 firebird's main fan doesn't kick on till 220*F and the secondary fan doesn't kick on till 235.

It took a while to get started. I've been collecting parts such as Cobra exhaust manifolds, a Mark VIII throttle cable, engine stand, etc., but yesterday I got started with the intake manifold removal. This is a much larger job than I had anticipated. I've done many many engine swaps through the years but they've all been on 60s-70s vintage cars. This is a whole different beast. Here is the engine on the stand just as I got started...
