Default Took her to the track yesterday

So I got my self a pair of 305/40/18 nitto 555 dr and I deff need a better tire. It hooks way better than street tire but I still spin at the end of 1st and when I throw in 2nd I spin the tires a Lil bit as well. If it wasn't for that I would of been able to make my time a lot better. Anyways my best pass by 8.1 at 93mph. This is at the 1/8 mile. Considering my time and trap speed what should I have been making in the 1/4 mile?

Your time in the 1/4 mile will pick up because the last 1/8th you won't be having traction issues. I would assume mid 12's at around 119mph.

I wouldn't say better tire as much as I'd suggest fine tuning the suspension so you can plant the rear and hook. What kind of 60' times were you able to cut?

8.1 in the 1/8 is about a 12.4-12.5 in the 1/4.
Your 93mph trap tells me that you should run better than 12.4 though(better than 8.1 also). A little wheel spin will increase your trap speed though.
What was your 60' time?
I don't think the tire is your problem at the moment. What sized tire and wheel do you have? What pressure did you run the tires at?

Be aware that you have to REALLY heat up the Nitto555R's to get the grip out of them.
You must burn them in the box until you see smoke coming off of them. If not, you won't have the traction.

Try heating them up better next time.

Yup, sounds like the car could use some suspension tuning.

What is the current suspension setup? I'm assuming that it is a manual trans car and you ran about a 2.0 60-foot time?

Suspension may not be needed to improve your times either.
You can see that I have a road race type suspension (NOT a drag suspension), but I have 60' as low as 1.68 with DRs. I'm guessing heating the tires better and possibly adjusting the pressure a little.

More info would be helpful.

you need a smaller tire, a 305/40-18 is almost a 28" tall tire so unless youre running something like a 4.30+ rear gear the car isnt moving out the way it should...

and as stated before, when you think 555R's are good, stay in the box for another 5 seconds then roll out...

FWIW my car was on 275/40-18's with 4.10's and i was almost ready to go to 4.30's before i sold it
