Bman2000 it's non pi. I am putting a pi intake manifold on. But that would really help power wise. It'll help with the leaking coolant.
and Justin.... no id like to keep my rear end as it is

What year is your car?

Guess you dont have the 00 gt.....

and im just kidding about the launching at 6k, but I would say to use slicks for the best 60 foots

They are easier on your rear than a drag radial fyi

Yeah it's a 2000 gt... late 01 was when they went pi from what I understand. And I'm putting a set of cobra r's on so ill probably buy a set of street legal drags and put them on the bullets so I can swap when I race

whoa....wrong wrong wrong! who told you that? pi was pre 99. every mustang from 99-04 thats a gt comes with a pi motor 260 hp. So if you think you have a none pi then someone swapped and screwed you big. take a pic of your engine compartment. im curious now.
and justin i dont see how slicks are better for your car than drs? they stick better ie better chance of twisting an axle off or frying the posi? unless i missed something.

also if you have a pi motor, then you should be trapping more than 93mph, so if you do have a pi then you need to get your car looked at or take lessons on how to shift from your grandma so you can get better

Question: How and Why are Slicks easier on te rear end vs Drag radials?

Ill get a pic. But I could've swore everything I've read said they went pi mid way through the new edge.
Yes I definitely need to learn to shift. This is my first sports car. Had a little ranger 5spd one time but didn't really learn any kind of advanced driving skills.

Hey man, nice times. Don't worry about the guys raggin' on ya. EVERYONE HAS HAD A FIRST TIME. EVERYONE HAS HAD BAD RUNS, if they say that they have not, they are liars. My first trip to the strip I ran a 14.5 manually shifting my auto, with the stock stall converter, and street tires. @ 95mph. Idk what the altitude is by you in tennessee, but I think alot of guys on the forum are pretty close to sea level also, which WILL make a difference. You'll get there, run the street tires until they are worn out. Than buy some DR's and see what you get. might as well practice on a street tire that will be cheaper, and theoretically last longer than the softer DR's.

jtb....Not everyones a liar. my first run, and only run for a while was a 13.79@101 that was my bad time compared to a little practice and running low 13s. But i made strong efforts long before i got to the track to figure out how to make it as fast as possible when i was on the street, and i dont mean street racing, just 0-60 not a big fan of tickets lol. but it teaches you a lot about shifting and launching. Some people are more natural at driving than others thats all. But regardless, practice is practice. everyone starts somewhere and gets better from there. If it makes anyone feel better, i could only muster 13.9s with my 18s on. and yea im around 200 feet. it will make a difference, a better bet for what the difference is, would be to find more people local to you and see what similar mods are running.
