Looking to buy a new set of tires here soon as my NT555s are pretty worn. Right now I'm running 275/35/18s all around on what I believe to be 18x9" wheels (wheels and tires came on the car). I'd like to go wider but 275 is the widest I can go on the 9" wheels and I don't want to buy new wheels for the rear.

Anyways, just looking for some opinions on a good street tire for a daily driver. Want the usual, something with good grip, tread life, etc and to stay in the $200 price range. Was also considering going with a 40 tire to get a little bigger sidewall.

I have had good experiences over the years with Falken tires, their FK-452 would seem to fit your description.

They are "summer" tires however, so if you have to deal with that cold white crap I've seen pictures of they may not be right for you. The treadwear rating is 300 so they are a pretty good compromise between long life and good handling...

Living in Vegas the only white stuff I see is up on the mountains. I really want to get some NT05s but they just aren't very economical for a daily driver. Look sweet, though.

Honestly, my Nitto 555's have been very good DD tires. I will get 40,000 miles out of my rears (at 32,000 miles now), and the same from my fronts. The price is pretty decent as well. Of course I am also quite limited in tire options since I run 315 rears.

There are no magic tires that have excellent grip and last a long time. That is a trade off that you have to decide which is more important. Personally, I wouldn't recommend a tire with treadwear rating below 280 if mileage is any consideration for you.

I run these on my stock starfishes (8" wide). I haven't had them very long so I can't tell you how long they will last. I like them so far, nothing to really complain about. I can break them loose pretty easily in first and second in my mostly stock 2v.

I use the continental's because we get a decent amount of snow in the winter and lots of rain in the spring and fall. They are the top rated all-season tire on tire rack. No complaints so far, but I don't really push my tires too hard.

I'll probably stick with NT555s. I've enjoyed mine and they seem to be the best fit for my needs. Plus I think they look awesome, too. What do you guys thing about going with 40s instead of 35s? They're a little bit cheaper and I think the added sidewall will look good filling up the wheel wells some more.

I have 18,xxx miles on my nitto 555 rears, 315/35/17. Eyeballing them id say theres a littke over half life left. They have good grip on the road... crap grip at the strip, but its a street tire. It serves its purpose well.
