Just because it worked while the fluid was draining doesn't gurantee its the seal, could be a number of things and you wont know untill you get it out. I cracked a th350 trans case clear accross and it still ran for awhile untill the fluid was gone.

my guess was right, popped the converter seal right outta the pump. I had my 93 race tune on so i'm assuming that tune has higher pressures, that combined with the seal being aftermarket not ford prolly is what caused it. i'm emailing my tuner to ask about the pressures. sucks I had to pull it but i'm happy it's just a 10 dollar seal instead of an $800 converter.

Good to hear it was nothing serious and you can do the work yourself.

CT, everytime I gain some faith in the auto's in these cars, you post a vid blowin smoke down the freeway and things comin apart.. or blood from a dead one on the road

Glad to hear it's going to be a simple fix though!

well i figured out the reason she popped out. turns out my driveshaft was tweaked some causing my vibration from 70+, which was really bad over 100. i'm assuming that vibration is what loosened it up. getting a custom one made now for $199 so this wont happen again.

Jeez, sucks man...

I had my built 4r70w in the car running absolutely flawlessly for I guess about 30k miles now....other than the initial BS of installing it with long tubes I havent had one issue with it.
