Default New to the Gt just a few questions

I sold my 2006 v6 mustang, and bought a 2003 mustang gt 5 speed w/ cold air intake, hurst short throw shifter, lowering kit, cat-back exhaust, and I believe different gears in the rear end

first question-
Im not sure what gears are in the rear end. My buddy has a 02 GT says i have different gears cause im running around 2,000 at 70 mph
Second question-
I wanna do some stuff to it... Like bolt-ons ( tb, intake manifold, underdrive pully, etc) and stage II heads and stage II cams... what would be the best cam? and how much horsepower would that put me at on the rear wheels... and then later (and i mean way later) could i put a procharger on it with stock internals or should i forge the internals?

Thanks for yalls input!

1) 70 @ 2k rpms sounds like stock 3.27s to me.
2)search, theres a lot of different options for cams depending on how big you want to go, many people run cms or hitech
3) with full bolt ons and cams you could expect 280~ rwhp, with heads maybe 300+ rwhp
4) you cna run a procharger, but need to keep the boost down around 10 psi if you want it to last

I would wait until it blows to forge it

Don't waste your money on the Boltons and Heads and Cams, just go straight to a blower with 8-10psi!!! then do that other stuff later along with forged internals.

I agree with the 3.27 gears as well.

^^^^ This is on the money.
Unless you want a very strong running car, cams and heads will get you around 300rwhp and will drive much better than what you have now. I too would wait until the motor is shot to upgrade to forged internals and higher boost.
GOOD LUCK!

Your buddy's 02 has a 3650 with a .62 od gear, you have .67 somehow I bet. Either that or your tach is off, which is also very possible.

thanks for the input... so if its stock gears what would be the best gears to run 3.73 or 4.10? and how much horsepower would a procharger add?

With a procharger id run 4:10's. You can easily hit 400rwhp with a procharger p1sc intercooler and a 3.4 pulley safely with a good tune and the supporting fuel mods.

also my car has an off-road x-pipe made for stock exhaust manifolds/shorty headers... Im going to run long tube headers... do i need to buy a smaller x-pipe made for long tubes, or can i get the x-pipe cut down to fit the long tubes?

I would just buy another x pipe made for long tubes.I'd go with the 4.10's.
