So I just finished up installing Hooker LT and matching off road x pipe on my 96 GT (definitely a character building install) The problem is the x pipe is hitting the passenger side of the cross member. I was able to get it bolted up but it needed alot of pulling and tugging I even used a tie down to ratchet the headers together and its sitting tight against the CM. Anyone ever had this issue? Or know of a solution? Any input would help this my first SN95 done plenty of foxbodys never had a issue.

mine has the same problem.. i just dented the xpipe a lil.. although it will still hit the cross member when you hit bumps..

Im gonna take the x pipe to my buddies shop and put a indention in it with a press. I figure if I press little at a time i should get a clean indent. Or notch the cross member but that would be last resort and depending on how much material needs to be removed id have to weld up bracing to keep from any weak spot flex. Ill post up the results.

Just hit it with a sledge, it doesnt have to look clean and crips youll never see it.
