Default 4.6 to a 5.4l

Alright so.. now that I've S/C the 4.6 I'm interested in now taking a new step at something more intense while over the summer going into winter and maybe plan a next spring 5.4L swap. Need more...

So, my question is everyone. What are my best options taking on this build and what will I need for the people who have done it or have looked into doing it themselves.

Easiest way would get an entire donor car. plus double check to see if the 2000 cobra R used the stock k-member or a specially designed one. You will more than likely need a new hood also.

op, you will mostly gain a little torque and not a lot of hp with a stock 5.4, the rods are still weak. i would go ahead and aleast put forged pistons and rods so you can crank up the boost. other than a 5.4 short block, you can use your heads and everything will bolt right up except long tube headers (shorties or stock required or special 5.4 long tubes) and 5.4 intake manifold adapters.

if he uses a stock gt500 5.4 then he will see more than a little torque and hp increase.

Get in touch with boozshey on here. he has done a couple of these swaps in s197 cars

OP why not just look into blower cams and forged internals down the road for your 4.6?

Forget the engine and build up the suspension.
