Default New Tires, Going Drag Radials.

What's goin on guys? well, I got a piece of metal in my left back tire, and they are pretty shot anyways. I'm wanting to get some DR's as the car is no longer a DD and honestly sits in the garage most of the time, even more so now that I'm spending money on parts for the build.

My choices seem to be either
A)274/40/17 555R's.

B)295/45/17 Mickey Thompson ETs.

There is about a $100 dollar price difference from what I see on American muscle.

Any luck on any other brands? I personally like the sizing of the Mickey over the Nitto, think it will fit the wheel better than my current 275s, they just dont look like they have enough sidewall, but want to hear opinions!

I've got an NX plate kit, MHS nitrous cams, and longtubes that will all be installed within the month hopefully.

go mickeys then. dont f around. you'd be alot better of finding some v6 wheels and getting a higher sidewall tire.

If the car sits most of the time I'd assume you drive it for cruising or to go racing. I say get some slicks and skinnies and forget about having traction issues.

Wannabe...fix your sig bro...****s way to big!

How much street driving will you do?

I DD my nitto's and I've got over 8k miles on them thus far and im not even to the wearbars yet. Hookin greeaaaat too!

If it were up to me...I'd buy the nitto's due to cost.

jtb727,

I honestly don't think you can go wrong, both of the drag radials are sick! If you are going to be spraying at the track then I would lean towards the Mickey's. But if you plan on just driving it here & there & want to hook up a little bit better then go with the Nitto's. I can confidently say you will not be disappointed with either set up, We have the Mickey Thompson on our 2012 GT project car & it dead hooks in first gear!

I hope this helps, Hit me up if you have any further questions or our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.
