Gears. What to get?
I have an that I'm wanting to put gears in but I'm not sure what will be the best bang for the buck. I was thinking 4:10's but heard they make the car rev high on the highway but I want something that pull hard on take offs and still pull around 4k.

At highway cruising speed the difference between rpms with 4.10s and 3.73s is only about 300 rpms so it's really not that big of a difference.

I would get FRPP 3.73's since they are the best mix between
street/strip driving and also the rpm's driving at highway speeds
aren't bad. Is your mustang a daily driver, weekend car, or track only car?
What the people here will not tell you is that if you
go with FRPP 4.10's or higher your MPG will suffer pretty bad and you
will put more wear on your engine because of the higher rpm's
over the stock gears.
If I decide to get gears I will definitely get FRPP 3.73's since I daily driver
my mustang, the rpm's won't be too high on the highway, and my overall MPG
will not suffer that much.
There are alot of threads on gears though I agree.

OP if your cars a stick and you're worried about highway rpm you can go with 4.10's with no issues, at 70 you'll be a tad under 2500rpms still. with 3.73's you'll be around 2250. if you have an auto the 4.10's will make more of a difference at highway speeds, around 2700rpm with 4.10's and a hair under 2500 rpm's with 3.73's. so look at the rpm's at 70 and if you're ok with the revs at 70 then go with 4.10's.
