Side Scoop Repair
Hey guys, I have a 2004 GT convertible that had it's side scoops ripped off in the car wash. Considering the random ease of removal, and how dirty they are, I'm guessing some shady body shop reused the disposable friction clips that hold them in place.
I've already bought the new friction clips. What kind of epoxy/adhesive should I use to repair the mounting points? Only one is damaged on one scoop, three on the other. They aren't falling off, just loose.
FYI There are six clips total.

That's sketchy. I wouldn't expect epoxy to bond with a painted surface well at all.
These failed because the clips were used. In addition to that, there is supposed to be molding tape providing additional reinforcement. Save for residue on one of the scoops, there was no tape.
