Default 99 crown vic 4.6 swap to a 98 gt

My 99 crown vic motor will finally arrive tomorrow, and I will be putting it in my 98 Gt, if I can get it to work that is. Can anyone tell me if I can use the crown vic intake with my old fuel rails and throttle body from the npi 4.6 motor? If not will the Dorman npi intake fit the pi motor?. Haven't done a swap like this before. Thanks for any help.

You do know a 99 Vic motor is still a NPI right?

Well I was hoping it was a pi motor. But thats ok I'm just happy to have a motor for my stang. I just don't know enough about these newer cars to keep up. I've owned several 60's Mustangs since the late 80's and this is my first modular engine car. I wan't my old 66 back lol... The 99 motor has the coils on every plug and that made me think pi.

The intake manifold should be OK. Two things for sure you'll need to swap over is the heater tube and the exhaust manifolds (for the EGR tube).

Yeah, I got started taking loose my engine and instantly found several things different. I did find something I'm not sure about,? the crown vic motor has a sensor on the inside of the LH head under the intake I guess its a cam sensor so I will leave it there intead of blocking the hole off it also has the one on the timing cover as well. I going to try and pull the engine with the exhaust manifolds on and hopefully it will come out without pulling the trans. I have the intake off and that gives me some room to access the bellhousing bolts.
Thanks guys for the help. I'm learning more about these newer stangs lol....

That's a heat sensor. It just screws into the head but not into the cooling system. Atleast that's the way it is on the PI heads. I can't image it being any different on the NPIs. I'd take it out and look in the hole just to be sure. In fact, there should be the same hole on the other head (that one will be towards the back) and won't have anything in it.

Looks to be like you said a heat sensor, its too far away from the cam.
I will check my old head and see whats in the back of the hole it has to be a plug thats threaded in or something to block it off.The RH head does have the hole like the old heads do. I saw the wire going under the intake and was curious to what it was for.
