We have a **** load of Honda powered Ricers out here in Arizona.
Every once in a while one will surprise you but usually Id' take most of them from a dead stop up to 60 in my V8 Dakota.
Make sure the ricer realizes you're racing from a dead stop.
Some of them insist on racing from a roll where they have the greatest advantage (already at peak torque rpm) and get around their FWD (lack of) traction disadvantage.
240HP, he'd be needing to turn 9,000 RPM's to obtain that power and calculated HP but those engines can be made to turn those revs.
A guy I was talking to on youtube actually brought his modified Civic (engine swap + other stuff) out to meet me once. Not to race but to have a respectful conversation (I just had my truck at the time). He wasn't a kid though and it was rare to have a mellow conversation and get together like that. All the other Honda douche bags on youtube were idiots. His engine did rev to near 9,000 RPM's though. No bottom end power though. They make some power from like 5,000 to 8,000.
You'll probably still beat him if you hook from a dead stop.

Mostly stock. I swapped to the HO cams and felt no improvement via the butt dyno! LOL!
Did true duals, 2 1/2" all the way into two flowmaster 40's and out 3 1/2 tailpipes. It sounded REALLY REALLY good (like a nice Mustang!) but once again the stock setup was not restrictive on that year therefore no gain felt via the butt dyno.
The biggest REAL mod was swapping in 4.56 gears with LSD in the back.
Did the gear swap myself.
Fat chance I'd take any decent car beyond 50 or so being a 4X4 but because of the gears and peppy V8 I could usually get the jump from the hole shot!
A 2WD version would have raped most ricers. LOL!

Yeah, mine was 2wd and had the 5.9 v8. I had a magnaflow exhaust, upgraded intake manifold, throttle body, CAI, roller rockers, shorty headers, and an SCT tune. She was quick and torquey as hell. A real nightmare when it snowed. haha
