Default Rebuilding my auto :)

well guys, I had the car almost ready to fire, even had fluids in the motor! however I went to roll the car backwards only to find it was completely locked up as far as rolling backwards goes(yes it was in neutral) comes to find out now that I've pulled it all apart again, the OD band I got from DD was the culprit. Its a bit shorter in length than the stock one, I even called him when installing it, and he said to install it... called him about 6 different times and he kept saying to use "force" and get it installed. this is why Im now going to rebuild the trans, its out and might as well..

I'm looking for a shift kit/entire valve body.
I have read into transgo and have heard alot of bad about them, and even experienced it myself once. however, the J mod just doesnt seem to be firm enough for what im wanting. I want something pretty dang firm and tight. anyone used anything from fairbanks? or performance automatic? or TCI? I want it not quite top fuel type firm, but definately firmer than a DD desire.

Trans will have red alto clutches, kolene steels, all new bushings, and gaskets and seals..

What are some opinions?
