You need practice, lowering the tire pressure and doing a burnout with a street tire has zero benefit btw.

Fuel filter and leak down or compression check. then work on your driving and get tires

The highest trap I had was 98.6 and I ran 14.57 on that run with a 2.58 60 foot. I will agree that my driving sucked, no question there! I hope to do better next time I go or else I wasted all this money making it faster when I can't drive worth a damn!

Depending on the track elevation that trap can be normal, cecil county to numidia ucan see a 7-8mph difference

There was a guy with the same year stang as me with the same tires as me running 14.1 14.0. He only had xpipe, catback, and throttle body.. Next thing my car needs is a driver mod lol.. I'm determined to get into 13's. I want to go to the track right now since I'm off today but there aren't any open today around me.

While we always go around the burnout box with street tires, lowering the pressure has helped on a few cars.
On the Z28 383 Stroker it was what got us from 14's into 13's.

I'm sure it depends on the tire and circumstances. And I hate doing it too much knowing that the car is doing 100+ at the end of the track.

First things first is address your vacuum leak, that thing is probably running enough fuel to fly it to the moon. That is hurting you HP and fuel economy. Next thing you can do is take some weight out of the car. Don't show up with a full gas tank, take the carpet and BS outta the trunk, take out the spare tire. IOW take out what ya don't need.

Then just practice like everyone said. I have zero suspension mods and a brand new motor so I feel your 60 ft pain.

I agree that you should look up the DA adjustment for your track on the day you ran. That will take the weather and altitude conditions into account.

If the traps are still below 105mph, you are too low for your mods.

When i first got my car i would also get 2.5-2.6 60fts. That was with the stock 245s, then what i started doing was doing a little peel out, not a burnout. Then after staging i would leave at 1500-2000 rpms and my 60s dropped to a 2.1. Best so far by doing that and with the 245s have been an even 2.0
