what transmission do I have? came from a 2000gt
Hey everyone
Can someone plz tell me all about fitment on t45s/3650s with 96-04 gt engines. What fits with what and so on. Im on tbe verge of buying an aluminum flywheel and clutch kit. I have an 04 gt engine.
Most importantly, how can I verify what trans I have by looking at the actual transmission?

Can you get to the car that the tranny came out of? On the vin card it'll have a section that say trans on the bottom. American muscle has a faq on they're site but its useless without the code. I remember mine saying tremec on the bottom of the transmission but that's about it, you may have to call a trans.shop or take it in to find out. If crawl under mine today ill take pics. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. However I wont able to check the vin. Stang it came from is long gone. What I do remember is not using the (what i believe to be) a 6 bolt flywheel from the 04gt engine and having to use the flywheel from my 96gt engine/t45. With that said im thinking I have the t45. What do you think?

this is not that helpful I know but I do no some 2000 have t45 and some have the 3650 this is about the time they transitioned to the t3650. so you cannot assume it is a t45
the best way to find is by the VIN after that I think it takes some crawling around under the car.

OP, is your question what trans you have, or what flywheel/clutch you need to run?
Take a picture of the trans and post it here and I'll tell you what it is
