I'm having similar issues with the drivers side top BH bolt on my Cobra. Apparently, when the previous owner had the motor replaced a couple years back, they didn't use any kind of anti-seize and more than likely slammed those F'ers in with air tools because this bolt is STUCK, not to mention rounded as all getout. I've soaked it in PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, and CRC Freeze-Off. Tried 2 different types of "rounded fastener" sockets (these just chewed up the bolt head even more as they just started to tear off chunks of the metal). Tried tilting everything forward to try to get it from the top side, tilted it back to get a better angle with a swivel and extensions. I'm at my wits end with this car.
Anyone tried pulling the intake manifold and other top end components to maybe get a better reach from the top? If there is enough room between the firewall and the BH with the manifold out of the way, I may try shearing the bolt head off then drilling out the shank once the trans is out of the way. And if none of that works, the whole engine/trans may have to come out through the top so I can actually get some heat/leverage on it.
