Default Bad TOB cause occasional Grind?

Well my TOB on my 2000 Mustang GT with the T-45 just completely went this morning. Before it went the TOB would make a grinding noise and the sound would change whenever I pressed the clutch in. And once every 10 shifts only 5th gear would grind going in. I had to drive home 40 miles with the bad TOB and it didn't grind going in 5th.

Does anybody have a link to how to drop the T-45? Since I work at a Ford Dealership they will charge me around $250 to install the clutch kit but I might be able to bring it in and install the clutch and get help from the Master Techs if I needed it and this could be the golden oppourtunity to prove myself since I'm the new guy haha.

It's not difficult with the proper tools, since you'll have it in a shop you off to goo start. 1. Remove mid pipe and starter 2. Drain Trans 3. Remove drive shaft 4. Remove crossmember, ensure you have support with a jack under the Trans after you take that out all you'll have is the motor mounts supporting all the weight 5. With a long ext remove the top two bolts in the bell housing you can let the Trans down a little on the jack to reach these there the two hardest to reach. 6. Lift the jack up a scoch and then remove the rest of the visible bolts and the dust cover bolts on the front side of the bell housing. 7. I suggest getting help with removal of the Trans it doesn't always come right out, the T45 is only 90lbs empty but.
This was all from memory I'm pretty sure I didn't overlook anything but I'm sure that's about it. If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask. Good luck!

Easy job that can be complicated by the exhaust and starter. I can drop the transmission in about 40 minutes on my cobra. Seabee basically got it right, but I recommend taking the shifter out of the transmission. Makes dropping it easier and refilling it easier.

Might as well change your clutch while you're in there too.
