Default I passed smog in Cali with cams no problem

I was looking to update the other thread where someone asked if cams would pass in cali but I couldn't find it, so I posted this one.

That's right I passed smog no problem. All I did was put my stock CAI, throttle body, and plenum back on and raised my idle from 750 to 850. They didn't ask me anything about the car. I have comp cams 262.

Stupid cali smog laws and regulations-0

What area do you live in? Basic or Expanded testing (one does an idle & 2500 rpm sniffer, other actually runs sniffer with your car under load)?

That's good to know and gives hope. I was told by my guy last year that I had to reflash to stock tune, that their analyzer would instantly recognize a non-stock calibration and fail the car. Looks like you squeaked through without having to do that. I've almost been considering registering my car in AZ so I don't have to deal with this BS anymore.

Damn, Cali laws suck.

I'm stationed here in California, but my Mustang is still registered back home. So glad I don't have to dick with trying to get my car smogged.

My buddy's got an '02, as well, and it sucks for him, having to change parts all the time for smog checks then swap it back over to aftermarket. It's almost not even worth it.

Haha, don't thank us. Thank your friends, neighbors and co-workers who keep voting liberals and progressives into your state legislature.

good job. I just passed with a similar setup, teksid block, mmr stage 2 heads and comp 262 cams. I did the same thing I put all my stock visual stuff back on and I passed no problem. I live in Fresno county so I had to do the enhanced test, idle Sniffer, 15 and 25 MPH readings. I passed cleaner than my last test with stock internals .

Yea it was the full test (idle and 2500).. They said my car was actually very clean. So basically I gained power and helped out the environment a little more lol. Smog laws are such a scam. Can you pass smog with nitrous hooked up as long as there is no bottle in the car? Or would I have to disconnect everything? Thinking about going that route soon.
