Question Its shifting gears really slow ?

Hello all . i have a mustang gt 2000 that i just bought, its an automatic. I recently changed the transmission fluid+gasket on the car, which hasnt been touched since the car was made. Now, when i shift into D, it takes about 3 seconds before i actually feel a push. Same thing with R, and all the other gears. It didnt used to take this long before i changed the transmission fluid. Could i have messed with something while i was down there on accident ? Again, this started after changing the fluid. Please help

Have you check the fluid level in the tranny pan the correct way? Warmed up, running and in park after you've manually rowed it through the gears?

What type of tranny fluid did you use? Mercon V or something else?

Yes i used mercon V. and yes i have checked the levels. After taking it all out, i put in 3 bottles of mercon v and 1 bottle of this thick Lucas transmission liquid, which counts as a 4th bottle. If im not checking it correctly and if it does not have enough, does that cause it to shift slow?

What's the thick Lucas snake oil for?

If the transmission shifted fine with original Jurassic Mercon, and it doesn't with Lucas snake oil, do ya think it might be the snake oil?

The 2000 Ford Mustang Owner's Manual says the GT automatic transmission fluid capacity is 12 liters or 12.8 quarts.

If you don't have anything better to do, I mean if it isn't too much trouble, you might just check the damn fluid level instead of thinking everything's alright after adding another bottle.

Actually, Derf00 first prompted him to check it correctly. You, shockingly, just acted like an ***. Oh, and your prompting came AFTER he said he added another bottle. So what, exactly, do you feel you contributed here?
