Default rear control arm opinions needed.

Hello everyone well as I mentioned in my new member thread that was a huge hit...

I'm needing to rebuild a lot of the suspension, I was planning on installing the Prothane total bushing kit that American Muscle sells, untill I heard that its not a good idea to have Polyurethane bushings in the rear because it will bind.

I then heard that with a quality LCA you can eliminate the quad shocks. Well that takes $145 off the bill and means I could get the BBK upper and lowers for about $150 more.

This car is and will remain a daily driver with some occasional spirited driving and needs more traction because I admittedly want to be faster than my twin brother and his 91 fox. I understand I may have to give up some comfort and that's fine.

Shocks and struts are being replaced with KYB GR-2's. The car is not being lowered because of terrain.

I just want to make sure my money is spent well and not on junk.

I'd go with upr, they're a good budget brand for control arms. if you're worried about binding issues spherical is the only way around it, but will supply some noise. I've seen numerous cars in my area run poly upper/lower ca's(usually upr) for many many thousand miles and no issues. So take that for what it's worth.

Will replacing all of the bushings, shocks, and quad shocks help me get better traction? I mean I guess anything is better that the state its in now. Would you suggest replacing the upper bushings and an after market LCA?

Right now the rear has lots of wheel hop and letteral movement.

Also I heard a lot of horror stories about UPR have things changed?

Besides AM, UPR has to be second on my list to buy parts. They're a little cheaper than the competetion but they do make quality stuff. Got a friend that has a low 10 second mustang and his entire suspension is UPR.

OK another enforcement for UPR. It looks like they where having a lot of bushing failures and have changed their supplier.

Of this the type of kit I would need?

Or should I get one with adjustable uppers in case I later decide to lower the car? Also can anyone comment on eliminating the quad shock?
