Motor Swap - Auto to Manual

Motor Swap - Auto to Manual
Just looking for some insight or feed back. I threw a rod in my 2002 GT. Luckily for me I found a motor about 4 miles from my house in a 1997 GT with only 21,000 miles on it. The motor is coming out of an automatic and my '02 is a manual. So basically my question is, the only thing I should have to do is remove the torque converter and the flywheel and bolt my stuff on right? I ordered a stage 2 clutch kit and I play on getting my flywheel resurfaced instead of buying a new one. This should all work out right? Same motor just different year, and a torque converter removal.

Because for one, I'm broke and I got this motor with 21,000 miles on it for $400. And I plan on doing a huge motor overhaul to it anyways. I already have a new intake manifold, headers, bigger throttle body, injectors and other various things. I just couldnt afford a PI motor. Plus I'm not really building my mustang for super speed. It's more of a show car.

Wait did you already buy it? We're talking about a PI 2v motor here, not a coyote 5.0.....
PI 2v motors can be found for 350-600 bucks tops.
If you already bought the NPI, I suggest swapping for PI heads. Absolutely nothing positive power wise will come from an intake manifold unless you are building the motor to rev the #**** out of it. Injectors are worthless and throttle body doesn't do anything but a slite better throttle response.
Best mods for the 2v are longtubes, 4.10s/4.30s, suspension/tires and a savings account for a supercharger. Everything else is just plain marketing horseshlt.
Best of luck

Yes I already bought the motor. I'm not really looking to get that deep into it. As long as the car drives good and sounds like a V8 i dont care how fast it is. This car is basically my project car to look beautiful. That's basically it. Just need a motor to make it go, some engine dressup and a new paint job.

Well I mean like I said in my earlier replies. I'm not looking to make this car a race car. I basically need the motor to make it go. Everything else I'm just turning it into a visual show car. I'll probably never run it on the track.
