The problem is that most of those mods you listed add little to no HP. Injectors, plugs, coil packs, catback, and gears will give you 0 HP gain (though injectors, plugs, and coil packs may gain back lost HP, and gears definitely make it more fun). Things like the TB, plenum, UDPs, and even O/R H pipe give very little gain. I don't believe tunes even give much on those engines, but with the LTs and CAI you might get 15-20 RWHP combined with the tune. You may be a little over the 250 I said, maybe 260 or so when I look again, but until you start getting more serious work like head work, you're not going to see much from most of those mods.

If you're looking for any serious power, FI is definitely your best route. Even on my 3V I'd be lucky to pull 350 RWHP with full bolt ons and full exhaust. Of course, every little thing helps some at least, so don't be discouraged, but nothing helps like boost.

I almost feel like starting over and just dropping a crate Coyote down in it. Good grief. This is my first New Edge, and my first Mustang in 18 years. (First two were Fox bodies back in early 90's.)

Definitely disappointing to hear this. I'm going have to reconsider what my expectations are for this lil project. My first inclination now is throw a 100 shot on it and call it a day. I've read they can handle 75-100 fairly reliably on stock internals. Is this accurate?

Yes, for the price a 100 shot is the best way to go for HP.

If you're looking to do a centrifugal charger so the power is always available, numerous posts exist of guys building kits for roughly $1,500-$2,000. Your 3.73's should pair better with this than a KB.

I'm assuming this car has low miles as well.

3.55's are a better gear since the on-demand power the KB provides, 3.73's will produce wheel spin and the centrifugal pairs better with 3.73's.

You can run 3.73's with a KB yes, but you're going to have spin city.

Not to mention you'll pay less for a centrifugal and be able to use his current set-up with great results.

I have 410's with my setup and I'll admit it takes a bit getting use to but it can be done. I guess it's all in the driver.

Your rwhp will vary with your altitude quite a bit. Using some black voodoo math and some sophisticated guessing, I came up with 280 at the crank - at sea level - based on my trap speed and I have most of the bolt on's out there. CAI through the intake is all done, exhaust, tune, and 3.73 gears - so similar setup. I think a corrected number around 250 is reasonable. If it is a hot day out you may see some low numbers, so be prepared for some disappointment.

I feel your pain on the hp/$, I think forced induction on a 2V is the way to go to get decent power.

A Coyote swap has definitely entered my mind a time or two. That would be a head turning build.

Giving false information to someone running a kb with 3:73s is funny lol. If you aren't a cheap *** and run good ties you won't spin. When I ran a centri before the kb it was 4:10s or bust almost went to 4:30s.

Everyone says nitrous is cheaper. But once a blower is bolted on you done. Your filling the bottle every time you go to the track at $40 bucks a pop. It's simply a pay me now or pay me later situation when talking blower vs. N2o. Over the life time of ownership I'd bet the blower is actually cheaper if you race semi regularly.
