I have an opportunity to buy a 2001 mustang GT for $2500 from a mechanic that lives near me. He has owned it since 33k miles. It now has 222,000 miles on it but they are mostly highway miles. Engine/mechanically it is almost flawless. It will need a number of small things fixed the main things being tires and a front end alignment. It is however in great condition besides the misaligned front end and the problems that that causes. So, I am just wondering if it sounds like it has any life left I know 222,000 miles is a lot but I have heard mustangs will run for forever.

id try to get the price down more, like maybe 1500-1800, but no more than 2k. That way if it ends up being a POS theres not much of a loss

Yeah that is what I was thinking of doing,but how likely do you think it is that it will run a little farther?

Extremely likely, I have seen high mileage 4.6L's that look like brand new inside. $2500 isn't too bad on it, but cheaper is always better.
