Default 4.6 swap to a 5.0 coyote?

I'm new to the forums, but I was curious if I could do a complete engine swap. I was really wanting to take the 4.6 out and drop a crate 5.0 motor in it. I'm not sure if its possible. What do yall think?

It can be done. you have to use a tubular k member and leave the k member unbolted while installing the engine. Search for the conversion and some where popular will explain it all.

Unless you got a hookup on the engine, trans, pcm and harness, be prepared to spend $12-15K. If you're thinking about f/I as well, you'll push up near the $20K mark. And that's just parts.

Coyote's are f'n sweet engines, but there are significantly less expensive ways to get 420fwhp under your hood. Otherwise, like mentioned above it's completely do-able, everything you need for the project already exists.

Would y'all recommend camming mine out and maybe putting a pro charger on it? That sounds like it would be cheaper than doing a whole engine swap to me. But I don't know if my motor having 115xxx miles on it will affect anything

Assuming a healthy engine (good compression etc), I wouldn't stress putting a blower on it at 115K. Keep boost at not more than 10psi, with everything else set up properly and a conservative tune it should be fine.
