Long time no "see". I have a question.
Okay fellas, I have a question... not 4.6 related but figured someone here may know the answer.
A friend of mine wants me to pilot his car next week at the track. It's never been down it before so I guess I'm the one he trusts to set a baseline.
Are there any tips/tricks to launching on Michelin Pilot Sports? To make it more interesting, I've never driven the car, they are low profile tires (I think 305/30-20), has stock IRS (I've never driven an IRS car in my life) and makes good power. 708/613 though a 6 speed. It's a 2010 Camaro SS, blown with meth. As far as suspension, I have no idea what it has but it's pretty stiff.
Besides the normal... go easy off the line, ride the clutch and try not to build boost too quickly in first. What should I do to get at least DECENT traction. Tire pressure, burnout, etc?
It should be interesting since I haven't been to the track in years with a car. I'd like to see some mid-low 11's but that may not be possible with that setup. Might end up running 12's at 130ish.

dropping pressure and big burnout might actually make it worse, Rock about 30 in the rear. lightly spin the tires a few rotations, skip the water box, and let it eat. 700 wheel on street tires wont hook up at all in probably the first 3 gears. Best of luck to ya lol
