Default ignition switch?

i was having trouble starting my 01 gt,it would crank and crank,
and not start, but if i let off the key a little while its cranking
the car would start, does that mean a problem with the cylinder
or some type of adjustment that needs done?

first start of the day,it fires right up,after a long drive,
i shut the car off for just 10 minutes, thats when it will
crank and crank and wont start till i let off the key
car will fire right up,sometimes, if i turn the key to off
then back to start car will fire right up.if there was fuel
pressure leak down, then it should not start up after sitting
all night, but thats where it fires right up.

It sounds a lot like fuel pressure leakdown. There's a check valve at the fuel pump that holds pressure sufficient to start the engine, and if that valve is failing then excessive cranking is the result. That you have been cycling the key on/off in order to start is another indicator of that check valve being faulty.

More than likely you need a new fuel pump to fix this issue. Highly doubt it has anything to do with the key switch like you're thinking.

i just had a new fuel pump installed a couple months ago.and i have no problem
starting the car up after it sits all night.i think that would rule out any type
of leak down, because it fires right up after sitting all night.the problem is after i drive
for a good while, then shut the car off for just 10 minutes,is where i have extended
cranking, untill i let go of the key, then the car will fire right up
