Default EVAP codes can't drive in rain

i have Evap codes p0455, p0457 Large leak codes , if it rains and I'm driving in the rain my car boggs (sounds like timing is very retarted) till I get new fuel so just wondering what I might be in for. also if there are any common crack points.... like with our intakes..... I don't seem to leak fuel at any time.

I looked in to a few other threads with bogging in the rain and saw that CAI that hang inside the fender can get water splashed on them causing my same issue. i will see if I can shorten my CIA to just inside engine compartment. if this works I will close thread. if not see you in the morning with update.

water in your intake wont cause evap codes.

Most likely have a faulty gas cap, filler neck seal, or one of the evap hoses is damaged

its common for the fill pipe, and grommet to go bad and allow water to enter the fuel tank, water sinks to the bottom and is pulled into the pump and that will cause your "bogging" and because the fuel tank can no longer be sealed for the evap monitor, you will get evap codes. check the fuel filler by removing the convolute and checking for rust holes.

think I fixed it.... recently I had to replace one of the 1/2 inch tubes that run from head cover to throttle body it rotted out. we in our hot florida sun the new tubing became lose and was allowing air leaks in to that hose at the head cover. it was also dropping my psi in my air intake screwing with my MAF and leaking oil... whew
