I have a 1999 GT that a bought a while back and I love the car, but the very first and most annoying problem I found out first was the placement of the cup holders, they are absolutely useless and I cannot use them, I always have to have my passenger hold the drinks. But I was wondering if I could replace it with a center console from a 2002-2004 GT and have it fit. Thank you.

The 2002-2004 Mustang has the same center console configuration as your '99 with the cup holders located directly behind the shifter. Bearable if you have an automatic, obnoxious if you have a manual.

No they're different, the 99-00 the cup holders are closer to the shifter and connnected to each other, the 01+ one is pushed further back close to the center arm rest and has a removeable rubber fitting for a bigger bigger cup.

You can do it. Friend of mine has an '01+ center console in his '98.

I am in the process of changing my 99 Cobra interior to black. The newer style consoles are easier to hold drinks in. I had that console in my old GT.

Just make sure your new console comes with the wiring harness or else you will have to mod yours to fit. Not a big deal, I modded mine to fit this 03 Mach 1 console.

if you dont learn to buy drinks with lids and stuff them by the seatbelt buckle, your doing mustang wrong

go to the drive through in your other car or find a drink bitch to hold them

gotta swap entire consoles and yes its easily done
